| I'm looking for a housemate to replace me as I have recently bought elsewhere and had to break my lease. You will be sharing with one other person: a self-contained upstairs unit of a beautiful spacious 3 bedroom Queenslander house with high ceilings, polished wood floors, ceiling fans in all rooms, separate kitchen, dining and pantry room, large living room, separate bathroom (with exhaust fan and heat lights) and toilet; downstairs laundry, undercover clothes line, front balcony with leafy street views and a relaxing backyard. Although there are 3 bedrooms, 1 is a spare room so it will just be the 2 of you with plenty of space to move around. There is the choice of either a spacious (large enough to hold a king size bed with ample space), unfurnished bedroom with air-conditioning, double-door access to the balcony, built in wardrobes; OR a slightly larger unfurnished room without those features. All you really need is your own bedroom furniture, as the rest of the house is fairly well furnished but if you have more of your own gear, that shouldn't be a problem as there's some storage available if needed.There is plenty of street parking available.
It's in a great location! Just a 20 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride to QUT Kelvin Grove campus (perfect for students!). There are frequently running buses to QUT and the city, just a short stroll away. It's also walking distance to Aldi, Newmarket shops/cafes and a park across the road.
You will need to be approved by the real estate agent to share the lease and the current tenant is hoping that you will be able to commit to 15 months so that he can renew the lease in early Jan when it's due again. The current tenant you will be sharing with is fairly easy going, working full time, non-smoking, neat and tidy and he is hoping that you would be much the same yourself.
I will subsidise the rent until the first lease ends on Jan 2, 2015; so it will only be $160 per week (paid fortnightly at $320). When the next lease begins on Jan 2, 2015 it will return to the usual rate of $190 per week (paid fortnightly at $380). Bond is 1 month in advance at $760. Electricity bills are quarterly.
