| Hello! Both of my housemates have entered the grown up world of home ownership and are moving out at the end of July, leaving behind two lovely double bedrooms in a decent weatherboard house in Richmond. Both bedrooms are at the front of the house and while one is a bit smaller, it has cupboards. The other does not have cupboards but the current occupants are trying to sell the ikea cupboards they purchased and assembled. The house has a decent kitchen with recently installed new oven, lounge area, lobby type thing that can be used as dining area, bathroom/laundry and backyard shed/storage area.
The house is in a really good location with close access to Bridge road, Victoria street (mmm, delicious pho) and Victoria Gardens shopping centre/cinema. The house is also near a gym and swimming pool and has a great market nearby on Saturdays. There’s plenty pf parking but there are also many transport links (trams 48, 75, 109 and whichever else runs along Victoria st; stations North Richmond Burnley are within 8 minutes walking distance). Really easy travel to CBD, Prahan/Windsor, Fitzroy, Collingwood.
I’m a 29 year old high school teacher and have a fairly active social life so am in and out. I tend to spend 1 or 2 nights a week at my boyfriend’s house. He occasionally stays over. When I am home, I like to do normal things like read, watch movies or binge madmen and cook. I have travelled quite a bit and enjoy swapping stories with like-minded individuals. I will also have international guests staying on rare occasions.
I am looking for two normalish people who are relaxed, neat, friendly and into the odd round of pub or a chat but also have their own lives. I’d prefer you to be between the ages of 24-35. No smokers or pets. I may consider couples but it can get crowded as there is only 1 bathroom.
Money stuff: rent is $924 (or $693 if a couple moves in) a month, which also includes internet and Foxtel. I am trying to look for a better package but at the moment, that is a locked in contract til December. Bills (water, gas, electricity) are quarterly and average prices. You will need to contribute to a $150 fee to put your name on the lease but that is a one off cost which will be evenly split. There will also be a bond but cannot remember how much. I’ll find out for when you visit me. Bigger room is available on the 26th of July. Smaller room available on the 29th of July.
